The history of the All American Brass goes back to Halloween of 2000, when the award-winning Baltimore Brass Quintet was formed. Fifteen years later, the Brass was invited to perform in the style of the New Orleans "second line" tradition for the retirement celebration of former Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed, and it quickly became apparent that there was a need for this style of music. With a resurgence in the popularity of the New Orleans style "second line" tradition, the Brass began performing on the street almost as much they were performing in the concert hall and, with the purchase of uniforms, the All American Brass was formed. Today the All American Brass performs a wide variety of music for over 100 corporate and private events each year.
The band has travelled as far as Chicago, IL and recently opened the show in Washington, DC’s Warner Theatre for international pop artist Aryana Sayeed. The All American Brass was recently featured in a television commercial for Giant Delivers, scheduled to air in Spring 2020. The All American Brass is comprised of all professional musicians with degrees from schools such as the Peabody Conservatory, Boston University, Towson University, Temple University, and others.
